Chinkapin Oak (Quercus muehlenbergii) 60’-80’ Zones 5-8
This fast growing member of the white Oak family produces large acorns that are a favorite of deer and other wildlife. Acorns fall from mid October thru mid November. Plant in full sun and in moist well drained alkaline soil. Expect acorn production in 3-5 years.
